我身如人之身、我子如人之子、今使子女為奴、我中已有數女為婢、欲免此而無力、蓋我之田畝葡萄園、為人所有、

我及我子、與同宗何異、奚以我之子女、為人服役、我有數女為人所玷、欲拯無能、我之田園、為人所據。

我身與同族之身無異、我子女與同族之子女無異、今不得已將子女鬻為奴婢、我女早有為婢者、贖之無力、蓋我田畝葡萄園、已為人所得、

Although we are of the same flesh and blood as our fellow Jews and though our children are as good as theirs, yet we have to subject our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but we are powerless, because our fields and our vineyards belong to others.”

We belong to the same family lines as the rest of our people. Our children are as good as theirs. But we’ve had to sell them off as slaves. Some of our daughters have already been made slaves. But we can’t do anything about it. That’s because our fields and vineyards now belong to others.”

Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

We belong to the same family as those who are wealthy, and our children are just like theirs. Yet we must sell our children into slavery just to get enough money to live. We have already sold some of our daughters, and we are helpless to do anything about it, for our fields and vineyards are already mortgaged to others.”

We and our children are just like our countrymen and their children, yet we are subjecting our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters are already enslaved, but we are powerless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

And now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our children like their children. Yet behold, we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters are forced into bondage already, and we are helpless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

Some of our daughters have been subjected to slavery, while we are powerless to help, since our fields and vineyards now belong to other people.”

Behold, we bring our sons and our daughters into bondage to be servants, and some of our daughters have been brought into bondage. It is also not in our power to help it, because other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

有一個先知門徒的妻哀求以利沙說：「你僕人－我丈夫死了，他敬畏耶和華是你所知道的。現在有債主來，要取我兩個兒子作奴僕。」

「你的弟兄若在你那裏漸漸窮乏，將自己賣給你，不可叫他像奴僕服事你。他要在你那裏像雇工人和寄居的一樣，要服事你直到禧年。到了禧年，他和他兒女要離開你，一同出去歸回本家，到他祖宗的地業那裏去。因為他們是我的僕人，是我從埃及地領出來的，不可賣為奴僕。不可嚴嚴地轄管他，只要敬畏你的神。

不是要把你的餅分給飢餓的人，將飄流的窮人接到你家中，見赤身的給他衣服遮體，顧恤自己的骨肉而不掩藏嗎？

我們不如將他賣給以實瑪利人，不可下手害他；因為他是我們的兄弟，我們的骨肉。」眾弟兄就聽從了他。

拉班對他說：「你實在是我的骨肉。」雅各就和他同住了一個月。

「你在百姓面前所要立的典章是這樣：你若買希伯來人作奴僕，他必服事你六年；第七年他可以自由，白白地出去。他若孤身來就可以孤身去；他若有妻，他的妻就可以同他出去。他主人若給他妻子，妻子給他生了兒子或女兒，妻子和兒女要歸主人，他要獨自出去。倘或奴僕明說：『我愛我的主人和我的妻子兒女，不願意自由出去。』他的主人就要帶他到審判官那裏，又要帶他到門前，靠近門框，用錐子穿他的耳朵，他就永遠服事主人。「人若賣女兒作婢女，婢女不可像男僕那樣出去。主人選定她歸自己，若不喜歡她，就要許她贖身；主人既然用詭詐待她，就沒有權柄賣給外邦人。主人若選定她給自己的兒子，就當待她如同女兒。若另娶一個，那女子的吃食、衣服，並好合的事，仍不可減少。若不向她行這三樣，她就可以不用錢贖，白白地出去。」

因為他沒有甚麼償還之物，主人吩咐把他和他妻子兒女，並一切所有的都賣了償還。

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，神豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，叫他們在信上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們、拉你們到公堂去嗎？
