I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said:“ You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves.

So I gave them a warning. I cursed them. I beat up some of them. I pulled their hair out. I had them make a promise in God’s name. I said,“ You must promise not to give your daughters to be married to their sons. You must promise not to let their daughters marry your sons. And you must not marry their daughters either.

And I confronted them and cursed them and beat some of them and pulled out their hair. And I made them take an oath in the name of God, saying,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.

So I confronted them and called down curses on them. I beat some of them and pulled out their hair. I made them swear in the name of God that they would not let their children intermarry with the pagan people of the land.

So I quarreled with them and cursed them, and struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them swear by God,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take any of their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.

So I entered a complaint with them. I called down a curse on them, and I struck some of the men and pulled out their hair. I had them swear by God saying,“ You will not marry off your daughters to their sons, and you will not take any of their daughters as wives for your sons or for yourselves!

I contended with them, and cursed them, and struck certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.

以斯拉便起來，使祭司領袖和利未人跟以色列眾人都起誓要照這話而行。他們就起誓。

都堅持跟着他們的族弟兄貴顯人參加發咒起誓的事、要力行上帝的律法，由上帝的僕人摩西經手所傳授的，要謹守遵行永恆主我們的主的一切誡命典章律例；就是說，我們決不將我們的女兒嫁給這地別族之民，也不為我們的兒子娶他們的女兒。

我就譴責官長們說：『你們為甚麼將上帝的殿棄而不顧呢？』我便招集了利未人，重立他們的地位。

不可和他們結親；不可將你的女兒嫁給他們的兒子，也不可使你的兒子娶他們的女兒。

他眼中看匪類當被藐視，但敬畏永恆主的人、他卻尊重；他起了誓，雖自己喫虧、也不更改；

我將我的背脊給擊打的人擊打，將我的腮頰給拔鬍鬚的人扯拔，我並沒有掩面以躲避羞辱，而免被吐唾沬。

有一個律法師回答耶穌說：『先生，你說這些話，竟把我們也侮辱了。』耶穌說：『你們律法師也有禍啊！因為你們把難挑的擔子給人背，自己呢、連一根手指頭也不捫着那些擔子！

恐怕你給你的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，而兒子的女兒又變節去服事他們的神，便使你的子孫都變節去服事他們的神。

凡不遵行你的上帝之律法和王之法律的人、你要嚴格地定他的罪，或是處死，或是放逐，或是資產充公，或是人身監禁。』

那無理的應該受責打，那麼審判官就要叫他伏在地上，按着他的罪、照數目使他當面受責打。只可打他四十下，不可加多；若加打他、多過這數目，恐怕你的族弟兄就在你面前被輕慢了。

他們入了約，要全心全意尋求永恆主他們列祖的上帝；凡不尋求永恆主以色列之上帝的、無論大小男女、都必被處死。他們就歡呼，吹號筒，吹號角，大聲向永恆主起誓。猶大眾人為了所起的誓而歡喜；因為他們全心地起誓，全意地尋求永恆主，永恆主就給他們尋見，並且使他們四境得享平靜。

我也抖着胸前兜兒說：『凡不實行這諾言的、願上帝照樣地抖他離開他的家和他所得的產業，直到都抖空了。』全體大眾都說『阿們』，又讚美永恆主。眾民就照這諾言而行。

你要敬畏的、是永恆主你的上帝；你要事奉的乃是他；你指着來起誓的必須是他的名。

利未人要向以色列眾人高聲應對地說：『「造永恆主所厭惡、匠人的手所作的雕像或鑄像，暗中立着的、那人必受咒詛」；眾民都要答應說：「阿們。」『「輕慢父親或母親的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「挪移鄰舍地界的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「使瞎子在路上走錯的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「對寄居者和孤兒寡婦屈枉正直的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和父親續娶的妻子同寢的、必受咒詛，因為他露現父親的衣邊」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和任何種牲口同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和自己的姐妹、無論是異母同父，或異父同母的姐妹同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「和岳母同寢的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「暗中擊殺鄰舍的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「受賄賂擊殺人、流無辜之血的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」『「不堅信這律法的話而遵行的、必受咒詛」；眾民都要說：「阿們。」

捨棄律法的、稱讚惡人；遵守律法的、跟惡人相爭。
