At that time men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms for the contributions, firstfruits and tithes. From the fields around the towns they were to bring into the storerooms the portions required by the Law for the priests and the Levites, for Judah was pleased with the ministering priests and Levites.

They also included a tenth of everything the Law required. Crops were harvested from the fields around the towns. The people had to bring the shares of those crops that were required by the Law. They gave them to the priests and Levites. That’s because the people of Judah were pleased with the priests and Levites who were serving God.

On that day men were appointed over the storerooms, the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the Law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.

人若聽從我、天天在我門口仰望、時時在我門邊等候，就有福了。

革順族拉但的子孫中做族長的有耶希伊利。耶希伊利的兩個兒子西坦和約珥負責管理耶和華殿裡的庫房。暗蘭族、以斯哈族、希伯崙族、烏歇族也各有其職。摩西的孫子——革舜的兒子細布業是庫房的主管。細布業的親族有以利以謝，以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅，利哈比雅的兒子是耶篩亞，耶篩亞的兒子是約蘭，約蘭的兒子是細基利，細基利的兒子是示羅密。示羅密及其親族負責管理庫房中的奉獻之物，這些物品是大衛王、眾族長、千夫長、百夫長和將領獻給上帝的聖物。

「二十五歲以上的利未人都要到會幕司職，五十歲時退休。

你要指派亞倫父子們盡祭司的職分，其他人若走近聖幕，必被處死。」

服侍的，要忠心服侍；教導的，要專一教導；

但仰望耶和華的人必重新得力。他們必像鷹一樣展翅高飛，他們奔跑也不困倦，他們行走也不疲乏。

他們每天早晚向耶和華獻燔祭，燒芬芳的金燈臺香，把供餅擺在潔淨的桌子上，每晚點上的燈。我們遵守我們上帝耶和華的吩咐，你們卻背棄祂。上帝與我們同在，祂率領我們。祂的祭司就要吹響向你們進攻的號角。以色列人啊，不要與你們祖先的上帝耶和華作對，因為你們絕不會得勝。」

他們的任務是幫助亞倫的子孫在耶和華的殿裡司職，管理殿的院子和廂房，負責潔淨聖物等事務。
