任爾多若蝻蝗、眾若蟿螽、在彼火將焚爾、刃將滅爾、如為蝻蝗所吞、

爾在邑中、雖眾於蝗、不可勝數、亦必遘災、有若蠶食、為火所焚、為刃所戮、

爾在彼火必燬爾、刃必戮爾、盡絕爾、若蝗盡食一切、任爾集軍眾若蝗、多若蚱蜢、亦屬徒然、

There the fire will consume you; the sword will cut you down— they will devour you like a swarm of locusts. Multiply like grasshoppers, multiply like locusts!

In spite of all your hard work, fire will burn you up inside your city. Your enemies will cut you down with their swords. They will destroy you just as a swarm of locusts eats up crops. Multiply like grasshoppers! Increase your numbers like locusts!

There will the fire devour you; the sword will cut you off. It will devour you like the locust. Multiply yourselves like the locust; multiply like the grasshopper!

But the fire will devour you; the sword will cut you down. The enemy will consume you like locusts, devouring everything they see. There will be no escape, even if you multiply like swarming locusts.

There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off; it shall devour thee like the canker- worm: make thyself many as the canker- worm; make thyself many as the locust.

“ I am against you,” declares the Lord Almighty.“ I will burn up your chariots in smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will leave you no prey on the earth. The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.” (niv)

Look at your troops— they are all weaklings. The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has consumed the bars of your gates. (niv)

He will stretch out his hand against the north and destroy Assyria, leaving Nineveh utterly desolate and dry as the desert. (niv)

So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts;they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again.They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail— everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt. (niv)

“ I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm— my great army that I sent among you. (niv)
