“ Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly.“ Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him. (niv)

For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. (niv)

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (niv)

The Lord said to Satan,“ Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
