But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said,“ Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

But he turning about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me, Satan; for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.

But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

But after turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said,“ Get behind me, Satan. You are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but on man’s.”

But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said,“ Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”

“ Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him.“ For the Scriptures say,‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.

They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.

For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you.Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.

“ So don’t worry about these things, saying,‘ What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

“ You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman.“ God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.

At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord’s words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

Then he looked at those around him and said,“ Look, these are my mother and brothers.

But Jesus turned and rebuked them.

But Job replied,“ You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.

He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man,“ Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored!

“ Who asked your opinion, you sons of Zeruiah!” David exclaimed.“ Why have you become my adversary today? This is not a day for execution, for today I am once again the king of Israel!”

Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns.

“ Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin.

Those who sin should be reprimanded in front of the whole church; this will serve as a strong warning to others.

But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away.“ Tell her to go away,” they said.“ She is bothering us with all her begging.”

Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it. But I pray constantly against the wicked and their deeds.

This is true. So reprimand them sternly to make them strong in the faith.

Jesus replied,“ The Scriptures say,‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”
