Jesus took the man to one side, away from the crowd. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue.

After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.“ Go,” he told him,“ wash in the Pool of Siloam”( this word means“ Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was.

“ Give me your son,” Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.Then he cried out to the Lord,“ Lord my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?”Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord,“ Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!”The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived.

He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the Lord.Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm.

Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.When all the jars were full, she said to her son,“ Bring me another one.” But he replied,“ There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
