But I said,‘ Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.Then these men said,“ We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.

But Peter said,“ Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”And a voice spoke to him again the second time,“ What God has cleansed you must not call common.”
