在清潔的人，一切都是清潔的；但在污穢和不信的人，沒有一樣是清潔的，連他們的意念和良心都污穢了。

就對他們說：“你們知道，猶太人本來是不准和外國人接近來往的，但神已經指示了我，不可把任何人當作凡俗或不潔的。

因為神的國不在於吃喝，而在於公義、和睦，以及聖靈裡的喜樂。

耶穌說：“你們還是不明白嗎？

彼得說：“主啊，千萬不可！我從來不吃俗物和不潔的東西。”第二次又有聲音對他說：“神所潔淨的，你不可當作俗物。”這樣一連三次，那件東西就立刻收回天上去了。

這些只是關於飲食和各樣潔淨的禮儀，是在“更新的時候”來到之前，為肉體立的規例。

只要寫信叫他們禁戒偶像的污穢、淫亂，勒死的牲畜和血。因為自古以來，在各城裡都有人宣講摩西的書，每逢安息日，在各會堂裡都有人誦讀。”

我說：‘主啊，千萬不可，因為俗物或不潔的東西，從來沒有進過我的口。’第二次又有聲音從天上回答：‘神所潔淨的，你不可當作俗物。’這樣一連三次之後，所有的東西都拉回天上去了。

毒蛇所生的啊，你們既然是邪惡的，怎能說出良善的話？因為心中所充滿的，口裡就說出來。

你們不要被各樣怪異的教訓勾引去了。人心靠著恩典，而不是靠著食物得到堅定，才是好的；因為那些拘守食物的人，從來沒有得過益處。

他們禁止嫁娶，禁戒食物。食物本是神所造的，是給信主和認識真理的人存感謝的心領受的。因為凡神所造的，都是好的，只要存感謝的心領受，沒有一樣是可以棄絕的；都因著神的道和人的祈求成為聖潔了。

他對他們說：“連你們也是這樣不明白嗎？難道不知道從外面進去的，不能使人污穢嗎？因為不是進到他的心，而是進到他的肚腹，再排泄到外面（“外面”或譯：“廁所”）去。”（他這樣說是表示各樣食物都是潔淨的。）接著他又說：“從人裡面出來的，才會使人污穢。因為從裡面，就是從人的心裡，發出惡念、淫亂、偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、貪心、邪惡、詭詐、放蕩、嫉妒、毀謗、驕傲、愚妄；這一切惡事，是從人裡面出來的，都能使人污穢。”

肉食市場所賣的一切，你們只管吃，不要為了良心的緣故問甚麼，
