And when he had called all the people[ unto him], he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one[ of you], and understand:

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.And when[ ye see] the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.[ Ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD[ be] God, follow him: but if Baal,[ then] follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

And Philip ran thither to[ him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

Hear this, all[ ye] people; give ear, all[ ye] inhabitants of the world:Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?

Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
