He said to them,“ Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.The men marveled, saying,“ What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

They came to him, and awoke him, saying,“ Master, master, we are dying!” He awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm.He said to them,“ Where is your faith?” Being afraid they marveled, saying to one another,“ Who is this then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”

They were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”

Peter answered him and said,“ Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”He said,“ Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying,“ Lord, save me!”Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.

He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying,“ We never saw anything like this!”

They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying,“ What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”

Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

They were greatly afraid, and said to one another,“ Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

The floods have lifted up, Yahweh, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their waves.Above the voices of many waters, the mighty breakers of the sea, Yahweh on high is mighty.

Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.
