因為約翰屢次對希律說：「你娶弟弟的妻子不合法。」

而約翰曾對希律說：“你佔有你兄弟的妻子是不合理的。”

因為約翰屢次對希律說：『你取了你兄弟的妻子是不合法的。』

而約翰一直對希律說：「你占有自己兄弟的妻子是不可以的。」

約翰曾謂之曰、納弟妻非宜也、

約翰諫曰、納兄弟妻、非宜也、

約翰諫曰、爾納弟妻、非宜也、

蓋如望嘗諫曰：『納弟婦、非禮也。』

For John had been saying to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

John had been saying to Herod,“ It is against the Law for you to be married to your brother’s wife.”

For John had been saying to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

John had been telling Herod,“ It is against God’s law for you to marry your brother’s wife.”

John had been telling Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

For John had been saying to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Because John had said to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

John had been telling Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife!”

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

For John had repeatedly told Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

For John said to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

“‘ If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless. (niv)

“‘ Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother. (niv)

But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.” (niv)

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. (niv)

Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife,for John had been saying to him:“ It is not lawful for you to have her.” (niv)

When I say to a wicked person,‘ You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself. (niv)

Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.As Paul talked about righteousness, self- control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said,“ That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him. (niv)
