When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

實際上，神所賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，而是大能、慈愛、自制的靈。

耶穌問他：「你叫什麼名字？」他回答說：「我名叫『軍團』，因為我們眾多。」

然而，他們會大大恐懼，因為神與那世代的義人同在。

耶穌剛上岸，那城裡一個有鬼魔附身的人就迎面而來。這個人已經很長時間不穿衣服，不住在家裡，而住在墓地裡。

勇士的擄物能被奪回嗎？強橫者的俘虜能被救出嗎？然而耶和華如此說：「就算是勇士的俘虜，也必被奪回；強橫者的擄物，也必被救出。與你爭鬥的，我必親自與他爭鬥；至於你的兒女，我必親自拯救。

瑪妲有個妹妹，稱為瑪麗亞，坐在主的腳前聽他的話語。

耶穌上船的時候，那曾被鬼魔附身的人懇求他，要與他在一起。

他的消息就在全敘利亞省傳開了。人們把所有的病人，就是患各種疾病的、受疼痛折磨的、有鬼魔附身的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶到耶穌那裡。耶穌就使他們痊癒。

鬼魔一被趕出去，啞巴就說出話來。眾人都感到驚奇，他們說：「這樣的事，在以色列從來沒有見過。」

人怎麼能進入一個壯士的家搶奪他的東西呢？如果不先把那壯士捆住，就不能搶奪他的家。

人們就出來，要看所發生的事，他們來到耶穌那裡，看見鬼魔所離開的那人，穿著衣服，神志清醒地坐在耶穌腳前，他們就懼怕起來。那些看見的人，就告訴大家被鬼魔附身的人怎樣得到救治。

那些看見的人，把發生在有鬼魔附身的人身上和有關豬群的事，都告訴了大家。

他經常被腳鐐和鐵鏈捆起來，然而他總是掙斷鐵鏈、打碎腳鐐。沒有人能制伏他。
