These are the twelve he appointed: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter),

So Jesus appointed the 12 disciples. Simon was one of them. Jesus gave him the name Peter.

He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

These are the twelve he chose: Simon( whom he named Peter),

He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, he gave the name Peter;

And He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom He gave the name Peter),

and Simon he surnamed Peter;

Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said,“ You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas”( which is translated, A Stone).

And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

Now I say this, that each of you says,“ I am of Paul,” or“ I am of Apollos,” or“ I am of Cephas,” or“ I am of Christ.”

Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot;Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot who also became a traitor.

Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come— all are yours.

But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter( for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Simon Peter answered and said,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”Jesus answered and said to him,“ Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
