He appointed twelve: To Simon he gave the name Peter;

These are the twelve he appointed: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter),

So Jesus appointed the 12 disciples. Simon was one of them. Jesus gave him the name Peter.

He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

These are the twelve he chose: Simon( whom he named Peter),

He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, he gave the name Peter;

And He appointed the twelve: Simon( to whom He gave the name Peter),

Simon, to whom He gave the name Peter;

and Simon he surnamed Peter;

He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, He gave the name Peter;

And Simon he surnamed Peter;

Simon( to whom he gave the name Peter);

Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon( called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Now I mean this, that each of you is saying,“ I am with Paul,” or“ I am with Apollos,” or“ I am with Cephas,” or“ I am with Christ.”

Simon( whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Do we not have the right to the company of a believing wife, like the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?

As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea( for they were fishermen).

From Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, have been granted a faith just as precious as ours.

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. Everything belongs to you,

On the contrary, when they saw that I was entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised just as Peter was to the circumcised( for he who empowered Peter for his apostleship to the circumcised also empowered me for my apostleship to the Gentiles)and when James, Cephas, and John, who had a reputation as pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, agreeing that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”And Jesus answered him,“ You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
