于是大大地喧嚷起来。有几个法利赛党的文士站起来争辩说：“我们看不出这人有什么恶处，倘若有鬼魂或是天使对他说过话，怎么样呢？”

法利赛人站着，自言自语地祷告说：‘神啊，我感谢你，我不像别人勒索、不义、奸淫，也不像这个税吏。

众人看见，都私下议论说：“他竟到罪人家里去住宿。”

且对人说：‘你站开吧！不要挨近我，因为我比你圣洁。’主说：‘这些人是我鼻中的烟，是整天烧着的火。’

法利赛人和文士私下议论说：“这个人接待罪人，又同他们吃饭。”耶稣就用比喻说：“你们中间谁有一百只羊失去一只，不把这九十九只撇在旷野、去找那失去的羊，直到找着呢？找着了，就欢欢喜喜地扛在肩上，回到家里，就请朋友邻舍来，对他们说：‘我失去的羊已经找着了，你们和我一同欢喜吧！’我告诉你们，一个罪人悔改，在天上也要这样为他欢喜，较比为九十九个不用悔改的义人欢喜更大。”

法利赛人看见，就对耶稣的门徒说：“你们的先生为什么和税吏并罪人一同吃饭呢？”

属灵的人能看透万事，却没有一人能看透了他。

那忍受罪人这样顶撞的，你们要思想，免得疲倦灰心。

“这个人为什么这样说呢？他说僭妄的话了。除了神以外，谁能赦罪呢？”

人子来，为要寻找、拯救失丧的人。”

若是不听他们，就告诉教会；若是不听教会，就看他像外邦人和税吏一样。
