As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.

Then, passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,“ Follow me,” and he got up and followed him.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the[ son] of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax booth.“ Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,“ Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.

事後，耶穌出去，看見一個稅吏，名叫利未，坐在稅關那裡，就對他說：“來跟從我！”他就撇下一切，起來跟從了耶穌。利未在自己家裡，為他大擺筵席，有許多稅吏和別的人一起吃飯。法利賽人和經學家埋怨他的門徒，說：“你們為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃喝呢？”耶穌回答：“健康的人不需要醫生，有病的人才需要。我來不是要召義人，而是要召罪人悔改。”

馬太、多馬、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、稱為激進派的西門、

耶穌就對他們說：“來跟從我，我要使你們作得人的漁夫。”他們立刻撇下網，跟從了他。耶穌又往前走，看見另一對兄弟，就是西庇太的兒子雅各和他的兄弟約翰，正和父親西庇太在船上整理魚網，他就呼召他們。他們立刻離了船，別了父親，跟從了耶穌。

安得烈、腓力、巴多羅邁、馬太、多馬、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、達太、激進派的西門，

耶穌從那裡往前走，看見一個人，名叫馬太，坐在稅關那裡，就對他說：“來跟從我！”他就起來跟從了耶穌。耶穌在屋裡吃飯的時候，有很多稅吏和罪人來與他和門徒一起吃飯。法利賽人看見了，就對他的門徒說：“你們的老師為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃飯呢？”耶穌聽見了，就說：“健康的人不需要醫生，有病的人才需要，‘我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀’，你們去想一想這話的意思吧。我來不是要召義人，而是要召罪人。”

耶穌就對他們說：“來跟從我，我要使你們成為得人的漁夫。”他們立刻撇下網，跟從了他。耶穌稍往前走，看見西庇太的兒子雅各，和雅各的弟弟約翰，正在船上整理魚網，他立即呼召他們。他們撇下父親西庇太和雇工在船上，就跟從他去了。

他們進了城，上了一間樓房，就是彼得、約翰、雅各、安得烈、腓力、多馬、巴多羅邁、馬太、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、激進派的西門、雅各的兒子猶大等人所住的。
