十一個門徒往加利利去，到了耶穌約定的山上。他們見了耶穌就拜他，然而還有人疑惑。

這些事以後，耶穌在提比哩亞海邊又向門徒顯現。他怎樣顯現記在下面：

門徒都離開他，逃走了。

倒不如赦免他，安慰他，免得他憂愁太過，甚至沉淪了。

那從加利利同他上耶路撒冷的人多日看見他，這些人如今在民間是他的見證。

並且顯給磯法看，然後顯給十二使徒看；

彼得在下邊院子裏；來了大祭司的一個使女，見彼得烤火，就看着他，說：「你素來也是同拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。」彼得卻不承認，說：「我不知道，也不明白你說的是甚麼。」於是出來，到了前院，雞就叫了。那使女看見他，又對旁邊站着的人說：「這也是他們一黨的。」彼得又不承認。過了不多的時候，旁邊站着的人又對彼得說：「你真是他們一黨的！因為你是加利利人。」彼得就發咒起誓地說：「我不認得你們說的這個人。」立時雞叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶穌對他所說的話：「雞叫兩遍以先，你要三次不認我。」思想起來，就哭了。
