耶稣说：“你们走路的时候，彼此讨论的是什么事呢？”他们就站住，面带愁容；

耶稣回答：“新郎跟宾客在一起的时候，宾客怎能哀痛呢？但到了时候，新郎就要从他们中间被取去，那时他们就要禁食了。

我实实在在告诉你们，你们要痛哭哀号，世人却要欢喜；你们要忧愁，但你们的忧愁要变为喜乐。妇人生产的时候会有忧愁，因为她的时候到了；但生了孩子以后，就不再记住那痛苦了，因为欢喜有一个人生到世上来。现在你们也有忧愁；但我要再见你们，你们的心就会喜乐，你们的喜乐是没有人能够夺去的。

抹大拉的马利亚就去，向门徒报信说：“我已经看见主了！”她又把主对她所说的话告诉他们。

“那时，人子的征兆要显在天上，地上的万族都要哀号，并且看见人子带着能力，满有荣耀，驾着天上的云降临。
