耶穌又心裏悲嘆，來到墳墓前。那墳墓是個穴，有一塊石頭擋着。

『你在這裏憑甚麼？你在這裏靠誰？竟敢在這裏為自己鑿墳墓，在高處為自己鑿墳墓，在巖石中為自己挖安身之所！

彼此說：「誰要替我們把石頭從墓門滾開呢？」她們抬頭一看，看見石頭已經滾開了，原來那石頭很大。

忽然，地大震動；因為有主的一個使者從天上下來，把石頭滾開，坐在上面。

他把耶穌的身體取下來，用細麻布裹好，安放在鑿巖而成的墳墓裏；那墳墓從來沒有葬過人。

這些事以後，亞利馬太的約瑟來求彼拉多，要把耶穌的身體領去。他是耶穌的門徒，只因怕猶太人，就暗地裏作門徒。彼拉多准許了，他就把耶穌的身體領走。尼哥德慕也來了，就是先前夜裏去見耶穌的那位，他帶着約一百斤的沒藥和沉香。他們照猶太人喪葬的規矩，用細麻布加上香料，把耶穌的身體裹好了。在耶穌釘十字架的地方有一個園子，園子裏有一座新墓穴，是從來沒有葬過人的。因為那天是猶太人的預備日，而那墳墓又在附近，他們就把耶穌安放在那裏。

約瑟取了身體，用乾淨的細麻布裹好，然後把他安放在自己的新墓穴裏，就是他鑿在巖石裏的。他又把大石頭滾到墓門口，然後離開。
