Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.

所以他们中间多有相信的，又有希腊尊贵的妇女，男子也不少。

彼得远远地跟着耶稣，一直进入大祭司的院里，和差役一同坐在火光里烤火。

然而，有许多在前的，将要在后；在后的，将要在前。”

彼得在下边院子里；来了大祭司的一个使女，见彼得烤火，就看着他，说：“你素来也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得却不承认，说：“我不知道，也不明白你说的是什么。”于是出来，到了前院，鸡就叫了。那使女看见他，又对旁边站着的人说：“这也是他们一党的。”彼得又不承认。过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人又对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的！因为你是加利利人。”彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得你们说的这个人。”立时鸡叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶稣对他所说的话：“鸡叫两遍以先，你要三次不认我。”思想起来，就哭了。

这些事以后，有亚利马太人约瑟，是耶稣的门徒，只因怕犹太人，就暗暗地作门徒。他来求彼拉多，要把耶稣的身体领去。彼拉多允准，他就把耶稣的身体领去了。

但犹太人挑唆虔敬、尊贵的妇女和城内有名望的人，逼迫保罗、巴拿巴，将他们赶出境外。

耶稣周围一看，对门徒说：“有钱财的人进神的国是何等地难哪！”门徒希奇他的话。耶稣又对他们说：“小子，倚靠钱财的人进神的国是何等地难哪！骆驼穿过针的眼，比财主进神的国还容易呢。”门徒就分外希奇，对他说：“这样谁能得救呢？”耶稣看着他们，说：“在人是不能，在神却不然，因为神凡事都能。”

那时彼得被圣灵充满，对他们说：“治民的官府和长老啊，倘若今日因为在残疾人身上所行的善事查问我们他是怎么得了痊愈，你们众人和以色列百姓都当知道，站在你们面前的这人得痊愈是因你们所钉十字架、神叫他从死里复活的拿撒勒人耶稣基督的名。他是你们匠人所弃的石头，已成了房角的头块石头。除他以外，别无拯救；因为在天下人间，没有赐下别的名，我们可以靠着得救。”他们见彼得、约翰的胆量，又看出他们原是没有学问的小民，就希奇，认明他们是跟过耶稣的；
