適有巴總在側、見耶穌臨終時情形、乃曰：『斯人真天主子也！』

百夫長和跟他一同看守耶穌的人看見地震和所經歷的事，非常害怕，說：「他真是神的兒子！」

百夫長看見所發生的事，就歸榮耀給神，說：「這人真是個義人！」聚集觀看這事的眾人，見了所發生的事，都捶着胸回去了。

他倚靠神，神若願意，現在就來救他，因為他曾說『我是神的兒子』。」

既然非斯都決定要我們坐船往意大利去，就將保羅和別的囚犯交給御營裏的一個名叫猶流的百夫長。有一隻亞大米田的船要開往亞細亞沿海一帶地方去，我們上了那船，就起航了；有馬其頓的帖撒羅尼迦人亞里達古和我們同去。第二天，我們到了西頓。猶流寬待保羅，准他往朋友那裏去，受他們的照應。

在凱撒利亞有一個人名叫哥尼流，是意大利營的百夫長。

耶穌進了迦百農，有一個百夫長進前來，求他，說：「主啊，我的僮僕癱瘓了，躺在家裏，非常痛苦。」耶穌說：「我去醫治他。」百夫長回答：「主啊，你到舍下來，我不敢當；只要你說一句話，我的僮僕就會痊癒。因為我在人的權下，也有兵在我以下。我對這個說：『去！』他就去；對那個說：『來！』他就來；對我的僕人說：『做這事！』他就去做。」耶穌聽了就很驚訝，對跟從的人說：「我實在告訴你們，這麼大的信心，就是在以色列，我也沒有見過。

彼拉多詫異耶穌已經死了，就叫百夫長來，問他耶穌是不是死了很久；既從百夫長得知實情，就把耶穌的身體賜給約瑟。

但百夫長要救保羅，不准他們任意而行，就吩咐會游水的，跳下水去，先上岸；
