Hereby perceive we the love[ of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down[ our] lives for the brethren.But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels[ of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

What[ doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be[ ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what[ doth it] profit?

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for[ your] liberal distribution unto them, and unto all[ men];And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
