時天氣正寒、諸僕與吏胥爇炭圍火而立、用以取煖；伯鐸祿亦與之同立、而取煖焉。

斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中

而伯鐸祿猶立而取煖。或問之、曰：『汝亦斯人之徒歟？』伯鐸祿否認曰：『非也！』

西門伯鐸祿尾耶穌後、另有一徒與偕。是徒素與總司祭相識、遂得與耶穌同入總司祭署；而伯鐸祿則立於門外；於是與總司祭相識之某徒出語司閽婦、引伯鐸祿入。

時耶穌憂鬱至極、祈禱彌切、汗如血珠、滴滴入地、

伯鐸祿曰：『即使眾皆傾蹶、予也則否。』耶穌曰：『吾實告汝、今宵雞未二嗚、行見爾三不認予矣！』伯鐸祿力辯曰：『即須偕子致命、亦決不否認也！』餘子亦同聲矢誠。

見其向火取暖、注視之曰：『爾亦彼納匝勒人耶穌之同道！』伯鐸祿不承曰：『吾不識斯人、亦莫明爾之所云。』遂出至前院、雞初鳴。

伯鐸祿遙尾其後、既至大司祭院中、乃與隸役共坐、以觀事之究竟。

宜儆守祈禱、庶免陷於外誘；心志誠毅、形驅則餒。』

庭中燃火、眾人環坐、伯鐸祿與焉。一婢見其面火坐、注視之曰：『此人從耶穌。』
