Peter told him,“ Even if everyone falls away, I will not.”“ Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to him,“ today, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”But he kept insisting,“ If I have to die with you, I will never deny you.” And they all said the same thing.

When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said,“ You also were with Jesus, the man from Nazareth.”But he denied it:“ I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about.” Then he went out to the entryway, and a rooster crowed.

When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Suddenly, a voice came to him and said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

He entered a cave there and spent the night. Suddenly, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said to him,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Peter was following him at a distance right to the high priest’s courtyard. He went in and was sitting with the servants to see the outcome.
