Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another,“ Why this waste of perfume?

Some of the people there became angry. They said to one another,“ Why waste this perfume?

There were some who said to themselves indignantly,“ Why was the ointment wasted like that?

Some of those at the table were indignant.“ Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked.

But some were expressing indignation to one another:“ Why has this perfume been wasted?

時有一門徒、即將賣耶穌者、乃西門子猶大稱以斯加畧、曰、何不售此膏、得三百第拿流約銀三十兩以濟貧乎、

門徒見而不悅、曰、何為若此之麋費、此膏可鬻多金、以濟貧者、

惟爾褻瀆我名、因爾曹言主之案不潔、其上祭物可藐視、萬有之主曰、爾屢言獻祭勞煩、遂加輕慢、更以搶奪跛足有疾之牲、獻之為祭、我豈納之於爾手乎、主已言之矣、

許願不償、寧勿許願、勿信口而言、使身陷於罪、勿於使者使者即祭司前云、所言誤也、恐天主因爾之言言原文作聲震怒、敗爾手所作者、夢多虛幻必多、言多亦若是、惟當敬畏天主、○爾見國中貧者受虐、或見審鞫時顛倒是非、勿因此驚疑、蓋人居高位、有較彼位高者鑒察之、鑒察之或作治理之其上又有至高者、然有王受國人之服役、凡事究於國有益、或作王營謀農事於國為益莫大

我觀世人勞碌經營、皆緣彼此相妒、此亦屬於虛、皆如捕風、
