耶穌和門徒快到耶路撒冷，進了橄欖山的伯法其時，打發兩個門徒，

門徒進前來問耶穌：「對眾人講話，為甚麼用比喻呢？」

耶穌沿着加利利的海邊走，看見西門和西門的弟弟安得烈在海上撒網；他們本是打魚的。耶穌對他們說：「來跟從我，我要叫你們得人如得魚一樣。」他們立刻捨了網，跟從他。耶穌稍往前走，又見西庇太的兒子雅各和他弟弟約翰在船上補網。

於是他帶着彼得、雅各和雅各的弟弟約翰同去，不許別人跟着他。

過了六天，耶穌帶着彼得、雅各和雅各的弟弟約翰，領他們悄悄地上了高山。

耶穌在橄欖山上坐着，門徒私下進前來問他：「請告訴我們，甚麼時候有這些事呢？你來臨和世代的終結有甚麼預兆呢？」

聽了約翰的話而跟從耶穌的那兩個人，其中一個是西門‧彼得的弟弟安得烈。他先找到自己的哥哥西門，對他說：「我們遇見彌賽亞了。」（「彌賽亞」翻出來就是基督。）

當時，耶穌離開眾人，進了屋子。他的門徒進前來，說：「請把田間雜草的比喻講給我們聽。」

過了六天，耶穌帶着彼得、雅各、約翰，領他們悄悄地上了高山。他在他們面前變了形像，

西庇太的兒子雅各和約翰進前來，對耶穌說：「老師，我們無論求你甚麼，願你為我們做。」

於是他帶着彼得、雅各和約翰同去。他驚恐起來，極其難過，
