Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

And the disciples came and said to Him,“ Why do You speak to them in parables?”

And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.Then Jesus said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”They immediately left their nets and followed Him.When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which is translated, the Christ).

Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying,“ Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.
