Dear friends, you have already been warned about this. So be on your guard. Then you won’t be led astray by people who don’t obey the law. Instead, you will remain safe.

Jesus said to them,“ Keep watch! Be careful that no one fools you.

Jesus replied,“ Keep watch! Be careful that you are not fooled. Many will come in my name. They will claim,‘ I am he!’ And they will say,‘ The time is near!’ Do not follow them.

I have told you now before it happens. Then when it does happen, you will believe.

“ I have told you all this so that you will not turn away from the truth.You will be thrown out of the synagogue. In fact, the time is coming when someone may kill you. And they will think they are doing God a favor.They will do things like that because they do not know the Father or me.Why have I told you this? So that when their time comes, you will remember that I warned you about them. I didn’t tell you this from the beginning because I was with you.

“ Watch out! You will be handed over to the local courts. You will be whipped in the synagogues. You will stand in front of governors and kings because of me. In that way you will be witnesses to them.

Who is like me? Let him come forward and speak boldly. Let him tell me everything that has happened since I created my people long ago. And let him tell me what has not happened yet. Let him announce ahead of time what is going to take place.Do not tremble with fear. Do not be afraid. Didn’t I announce everything that has happened? Didn’t I tell you about it long ago? “ Watch out for false prophets. They come to you pretending to be sheep. But on the inside they are hungry wolves.

“ Be careful. If you aren’t, your hearts will be loaded down with wasteful living, drunkenness and the worries of life. Then the day the Son of Man returns will close on you like a trap. It will happen suddenly.
