若不是主減少那日子，凡有血氣的，總沒有一個得救的；只是為主的選民，他將那日子減少了。

主若不減其時日、則血氣之倫、將無遺孑！惟為選民之故、主必減之耳。

耶和華如此說：葡萄中尋得新酒，人就說：不要毀壞，因為福在其中。我因我僕人的緣故也必照樣而行，不將他們全然毀滅。我必從雅各中領出後裔，從猶大中領出承受我眾山的。我的選民必承受；我的僕人要在那裏居住。

若不減少那日子，凡有血氣的總沒有一個得救的；只是為選民，那日子必減少了。

就着福音說，他們為你們的緣故是仇敵；就着揀選說，他們為列祖的緣故是蒙愛的。因為神的恩賜和選召是沒有後悔的。你們從前不順服神，如今因他們的不順服，你們倒蒙了憐恤。這樣，他們也是不順服，叫他們因着施給你們的憐恤，現在也就蒙憐恤。因為神將眾人都圈在不順服之中，特意要憐恤眾人。

耶和華說：這全地的人，三分之二必剪除而死，三分之一仍必存留。我要使這三分之一經火，熬煉他們，如熬煉銀子；試煉他們，如試煉金子。他們必求告我的名，我必應允他們。我要說：這是我的子民。他們也要說：耶和華是我們的神。

境內剩下的人若還有十分之一，也必被吞滅，像栗樹、橡樹雖被砍伐，樹墩子卻仍存留。這聖潔的種類在國中也是如此。

而且他們若不是長久不信，仍要被接上，因為神能夠把他們重新接上。你是從那天生的野橄欖上砍下來的，尚且逆着性得接在好橄欖上，何況這本樹的枝子，要接在本樹上呢！

如今也是這樣，照着揀選的恩典，還有所留的餘數。既是出於恩典，就不在乎行為；不然，恩典就不是恩典了。這是怎麼樣呢？以色列人所求的，他們沒有得着。惟有蒙揀選的人得着了；其餘的就成了頑梗不化的。

若不是萬軍之耶和華給我們稍留餘種，我們早已像所多瑪、蛾摩拉的樣子了。
