And they answered Jesus and say, We know not. And Jesus saith unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

遂對耶穌曰、我儕不知、耶穌曰、我亦不告爾我以何權行此諸事、

乃答不知。耶穌曰：『則吾亦不願告爾憑何權而行此矣。』

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they finally replied,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus responded,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Answering Jesus, they* said,“ We do not know.” And Jesus* said to them,“ Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered and said to Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus answered and said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?

And they answered, that they knew not whence it was.And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

But unto this day, whensoever Moses is read, a veil lieth upon their heart.

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib; but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Tarry ye and wonder; take your pleasure and be blind: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.For Jehovah hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your heads, the seers, hath he covered.And all vision is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I cannot, for it is sealed:and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned.And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh unto me, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught them;therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Let them alone: they are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both shall fall into a pit.

An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them, and departed.

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also.

And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:and if I ask you, ye will not answer.But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.

Yea, the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle- dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of Jehovah.How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes hath wrought falsely.The wise men are put to shame, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of Jehovah; and what manner of wisdom is in them?

Answer not a fool according to his folly, Lest thou also be like unto him.Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own conceit.

and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.

And they answered Jesus, and said, We know not. He also said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I send? who is blind as he that is at peace with me, and blind as Jehovah’s servant?Thou seest many things, but thou observest not; his ears are open, but he heareth not.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.

In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well- pleasing in thy sight.All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.

His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou the teacher of Israel, and understandest not these things?

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness;because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.
