They replied,“ Are you from Galilee too? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”

saying,“ What do you think about the Christ? And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said,‘ I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised.

And all the people were amazed, and said,“ Can this be the Son of David?”

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read.

And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

“ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders,“ This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read,“ Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”

Others said,“ This is the Christ.” But some said,“ Is the Christ to come from Galilee?

And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Nathanael said to him,“ Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him,“ Come and see.”
