耶穌說完了這些話，就離開加利利，來到猶太的境內、約旦河的東邊。有一大羣人跟着他，他就在那裏治好了他們。有些法利賽人來試探耶穌說：「無論甚麼緣故，人休妻都合法嗎？」耶穌回答：「那起初造人的，是造男造女，並且說：『因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。』這經文你們沒有念過嗎？

耶穌就用許多比喻教導他們。在教導的時候，他對他們說：

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教導人，宣講天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的疾病。

耶穌又到海邊去，眾人都到他跟前來，他就教導他們。

耶穌出來，見有一大羣的人，就憐憫他們，因為他們如同羊沒有牧人一般，於是開始教導他們許多事。

再者，傳道者因有智慧，將知識教導眾人；他思量，考察，並列舉出許多箴言。

他們以背向我，不以面向我；我雖然一再教導他們，他們卻不聽從，不領受訓誨，
