Hear, O you mountains, the LORD’s complaint, And you strong foundations of the earth; For the Lord has a complaint against His people, And He will contend with Israel.

惟爾山嶺、與永固之地基、俱當聽主所辯論之言、主將與己民辯論、將指責以色列、

“ Hear, you mountains, the Lord’s accusation; listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the Lord has a case against his people; he is lodging a charge against Israel.

Hear the Lord’ s case, you mountains. Listen, you age- old foundations of the earth. The Lord has a case against his people Israel. He is bringing charges against them.

Hear, you mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against his people, and he will contend with Israel.

And now, O mountains, listen to the Lord’s complaint! He has a case against his people. He will bring charges against Israel.

Listen to the LORD’s lawsuit, you mountains and enduring foundations of the earth, because the LORD has a case against his people, and he will argue it against Israel.

Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah’s controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:“ There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land.

“ The Lord also brings a charge against Judah, And will punish Jacob according to his ways; According to his deeds He will recompense him.

“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered, At the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever,

“ Therefore I will yet bring charges against you,” says the Lord,“ And against your children’s children I will bring charges.

And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face.Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,” says the Lord GOD.

When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth,

For a fire is kindled in my anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted.

“ Why will you plead with Me? You all have transgressed against Me,” says the Lord.“ In vain I have chastened your children; They received no correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets Like a destroying lion.“ O generation, see the word of the Lord! Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of darkness? Why do My people say,‘ We are lords; We will come no more to You’?Can a virgin forget her ornaments, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number.“ Why do you beautify your way to seek love? Therefore you have also taught The wicked women your ways.Also on your skirts is found The blood of the lives of the poor innocents. I have not found it by secret search, But plainly on all these things.Yet you say,‘ Because I am innocent, Surely His anger shall turn from me.’ Behold, I will plead My case against you, Because you say,‘ I have not sinned.’

“ And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.

“ Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry.

Thus says the Lord:“ If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the Lord.

A noise will come to the ends of the earth— For the Lord has a controversy with the nations; He will plead His case with all flesh. He will give those who are wicked to the sword,’ says the Lord.”
