Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins.

故我亦擊爾、傷重不可醫、因爾之諸罪、使爾荒蕪、使爾荒蕪或作毀滅爾

Therefore, I have begun to destroy you, to ruin you because of your sins.

So I have begun to strike you down. I have begun to destroy you because you have sinned so much.

Therefore I strike you with a grievous blow, making you desolate because of your sins.

“ Therefore, I will wound you! I will bring you to ruin for all your sins.

“ As a result, I have begun to strike you severely, bringing desolation because of your sins.

So also I will make you sick, striking you down, Making you desolate because of your sins.

“ Therefore I will also make you sick by striking you, By making you desolate because of your sins.

Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins.

“ As a result, I have begun to strike you severely, bringing desolation because of your sins.

Therefore also will I make[ thee] sick in smiting thee, in making[ thee] desolate because of thy sins.

I will strike you brutally and destroy you because of your sin.

Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, bandaged, or soothed with oil.Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

“ From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them. He has spread a net for my feet. He has turned me back. He has made me desolate and I faint all day long.

Samaria will bear her guilt; for she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women will be ripped open.”

Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death.

He has turned away my ways, and pulled me in pieces. He has made me desolate.

Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known that which will surely be.

Then I said,“ Lord, how long?” He answered,“ Until cities are waste without inhabitant, houses without man, the land becomes utterly waste,

Yahweh will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from off the land where you go in to possess it.Yahweh will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with fiery heat, with the sword, with blight, and with mildew. They will pursue you until you perish.

If I go out into the field, then, behold, the slain with the sword! If I enter into the city, then, behold, those who are sick with famine! For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.’”

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn’t give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.

I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
