Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go[ even] to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.

People of Zion, groan with pain. Cry out like a woman having a baby. Soon you must leave your city. You must camp in the open fields. You will have to go to the land of Babylon. But that’s where the Lord will save you. There he will set you free from the power of your enemies.

Writhe and groan, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you shall go out from the city and dwell in the open country; you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be rescued; there the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Writhe and groan like a woman in labor, you people of Jerusalem, for now you must leave this city to live in the open country. You will soon be sent in exile to distant Babylon. But the Lord will rescue you there; he will redeem you from the grip of your enemies.

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it[ even] to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry[ is] in the ships.

Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean[ thing]; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel[ will be] your rereward.

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.

The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he[ is] an unwise son; for he should not stay long in[ the place of] the breaking forth of children.

I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

And the city was broken up, and all the men of war[ fled] by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which[ is] by the king’s garden:( now the Chaldees[ were] against the city round about:) and[ the king] went the way toward the plain.

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day?[ or] shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut[ the womb]? saith thy God.

And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest[ with] the daughter of Babylon.For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and[ put it] also in writing, saying,Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which[ is] in Judah.

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass,[ that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye[ are] not my people,[ there] it shall be said unto them,[ Ye are] the sons of the living God.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD[ shall be] a light unto me.I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light,[ and] I shall behold his righteousness.Then[ she that is] mine enemy shall see[ it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.[ In] the day that thy walls are to be built,[ in] that day shall the decree be far removed.[ In] that day[ also] he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and[ from] the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and[ from] mountain to mountain.Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.

And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated[ them], and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
