But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.

The Spirit of the Lord has filled me with power. He helps me do what is fair. He makes me brave. Now I’m prepared to tell Jacob’s people what they’ve done wrong. I’m ready to tell Israel they’ve sinned.

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

But as for me, I am full of power by Yahweh’s Spirit, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

And my speech and my preaching[ was] not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.

So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers[ did], so[ do] ye.Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But[ his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not[ stay].

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again,[ and] thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I[ am] with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

For he taught them as[ one] having authority, and not as the scribes.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with[ him that is] full of days.

Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge[ them]? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers:

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

And James the[ son] of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews[ that] Jesus[ was] Christ.And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook[ his] raiment, and said unto them, Your blood[ be] upon your own heads; I[ am] clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead,[ even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole.This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.And he continued[ there] a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with[ their] teeth.But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

Then Saul,( who also[ is called] Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief,[ thou] child of the devil,[ thou] enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?And now, behold, the hand of the Lord[ is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to[ our] father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and[ with] fire:Whose fan[ is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
