當是日自稱先知、見異象、言未來事者、必致羞辱、不復衣毛衣以欺人、

使偽先知所言預兆無驗、使卜筮者顯為愚、使智慧人退後、使其靈巧變為愚拙、

凡患癩者、其衣當裂、露首掩口、自呼曰、我不潔矣、我不潔矣、

掃羅問於主、主不之應、又祈夢、問烏陵、問先知、俱不得指示、

爾曹必為我以西結所為者、不掩爾口、不食人為喪事所供之食物、

主天主曰、日將至、我必使斯地之民饑渴、饑非為餅、渴非為水、乃為欲聽主之言、饑非為餅渴非為水乃為欲聽主之言或作饑非因絕糧渴非因無水乃因不得聽主之言

爾自幼勤於符咒、多行巫術、今試立於此、今試立於此或作今任爾仍如此行或可得益、或可勝敵、勝敵或作恐喝敵人爾設多謀、徒自困乏、惟彼觀天象者、占察星辰者、在月朔宣告爾所將遇者、今可興起以拯救爾、豈知彼若草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救免遭火焰、更無餘炭、可以溫體、亦無微火、可坐其前、

惟可暗中歎息、為死者勿哀喪、首仍戴冠、足仍著履、毋掩爾口、勿食人為喪事所供之食物、

掃羅問於天主曰、我追非利士人可否、主付之於以色列人手否、是日天主不垂告、

初以色列中有人往問天主、則曰、盍往謁先見、蓋今所稱先知者、昔稱先見也、

先知曰、異邦之民、素逞勢力、見此必羞愧、掩口不言、塞耳不聽、

術士因瘡不能立於摩西前、術士亦生瘡、與他伊及人無異、

昔雅尼佯比利敵摩西、此等人、亦如是敵真理、其人壞心術、見絕於聖道、見絕於聖道或作於主道被擯者然不能久敵、其愚魯必露於眾、如昔二人然、○

今我儕不得再見異兆奇跡、我中再無先知、無人能知此禍將至何時而止、

撒母耳謂掃羅曰、爾何擾我、招我上來乎、掃羅曰、我甚窘急、非利士人攻我、天主離我、不復藉先知與夢以答我、故招爾上來、欲爾示我當行何事、

如爾不以夢告我、惟有一法以處爾、爾故備妄誕之言以欺我、欲待時勢更變、爾當以夢告我、則我知爾能示我其兆、示我其兆或作為我解之迦勒底人對王曰、王所問、天下無有能示者、從未有君王侯伯、掌權者、以如此問博士、術士、迦勒底人者也、王所問者甚難、除神明、不與世人同居者、無人能告王、
