我們一定要實行我們口中所說出的一切話：向天后燻祭，澆奠祭，按着我們和我們列祖、我們的王和首領在猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上素常所行的一樣；那時我們喫飽飯，享福樂，不見災禍呀。自從我們停止了向天后燻祭、澆奠祭，我們倒缺乏了一切，又因刀劍饑荒而滅絕了。』

他們的母親行了淫亂；懷了他們的、行了羞恥事；因為她說：「我要跟着我的愛人；我的餅、我的水、我的羊毛、我的麻、我的油、我喝的酒、都是他們給的。」

又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、甚至拿弗他利各城、使他們四境的廟宇荒廢。他又拆毁了祭壇，把亞舍拉神木和雕像砸碎成灰，將以色列遍地所有的香壇都砍下來，然後回耶路撒冷去。

沒有人買他們的金銀寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫布、絲綢、朱紅布等貨物、各樣香木、各樣象牙器皿、頂貴重木製的、銅鐵白石製的各樣器皿、肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、細麵、麥子、牲口、羊、馬、貨車、跟奴僕、就是人口——等貨色。

他們並且將我的人民做鬮份去拈，將童子換取了妓女，賣了童女去買酒喝。

所以雅各若叫祭壇的石頭變為砸碎的灰石，使亞舍拉神木和香壇不得立着：雅各罪孽之得赦除、全在於此：這就是除掉他的罪的整個條件。

我把你們犯罪的東西、就是你們所造的牛犢、用火去燒，把牠砸碎，仔細地磨，直到細如塵土；又把這塵土撒在從山上流下來的溪水中。

他又打破崇拜柱子，把亞舍拉神木砍下來，使那地方充滿了人的骨頭。不但如此，他也將在伯特利的祭壇，和那使以色列人犯了罪的、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、所建築的邱壇，那祭壇和那邱壇約西亞都拆毁，把那邱壇打碎成灰去燒，將亞舍拉神木都燒掉。

我必破毁你們的邱壇，砍下你們的香壇，把你們的屍身扔在你們的偶像的屍身上；我的心必厭棄你們。

地上的君王、素來同她行淫、荒淫無度的、看見她被焚燒的煙，就必為她哭泣捶胸。

這一切事既已作完，所有在場的以色列眾人就都出去、到猶大各城市，把崇拜柱子打碎，將亞舍拉神木砍下；又從猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地、將邱壇和祭壇全都拆毁；於是以色列眾人都回本城，各歸自己的地業去。
