耶稣赶出一个哑巴鬼，鬼既出去，哑巴就说起话来，众人都希奇。

有人带着一个又聋又哑的人到他那里，求耶稣按手在他身上。耶稣把他从人群中带到一边，用指头探他的耳朵，吐唾沫抹他的舌头，然后望着天，长长地叹了一口气，对他说：“以法大！”意思是“开了吧”。那人的耳朵就开了，舌头也松了，说话也准确了。耶稣嘱咐他们不要告诉人。但他越是嘱咐，他们却越发传扬。众人非常惊讶说：“他所作的一切事都好极了；他竟然使聋子听见，又使哑巴说话。”

那时，瘸子必像鹿一般跳跃，哑巴的舌头必大声欢呼；旷野必涌出大水，沙漠必流出江河。

耶和华对他说：“谁造人的口呢？谁使人口哑、耳聋、眼明、眼瞎呢？不是我耶和华吗？现在去吧，我必赐你口才，指教你当说的。”

有许多人来到他那里，把瘸腿的、瞎眼的、残废的、哑的和许多别的病人，都带到耶稣跟前，他就医好他们。群众看见哑巴说话，残废的复原，瘸腿的行走，瞎眼的看见，就十分惊奇，于是颂赞以色列的神。

你曾在埃及地行神迹奇事，你在以色列和全人类中间直到今日也是这样，使你自己得了名声，好像今日一样。

那人就起来，立刻拿着褥子，当众出去了。众人都非常惊奇，颂赞神，说：“我们从来没有见过这样的事。”

神人以利沙听见以色列王撕裂自己的衣服，就打发人去见王说：“你为什么撕裂自己的衣服呢？请你把他送到我这里来吧！他就知道在以色列中有先知了。”

在犹大，神是人人所认识的，在以色列，他的名被尊为大。

耶稣听见这些话，就很惊奇，转身对跟随的众人说：“我告诉你们，这样的信心，我在以色列中从来没有见过。”
