For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

蓋我隸人權、有士卒隸我權、令此往則往、來則來、令僕行是則行是、

蓋我權屬人、兵權屬我、命去則去、命來則來、令僕行是、即行是、

蓋我屬人轄、亦有兵屬我轄、命此去則去、命彼來則來、令我僕行是則行是、

蓋予屬人權下、己亦帶有兵卒；命此去則去、召彼來則來、所諭於僕、罔有不從。』

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”

I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say,‘ Go,’ and they go, or‘ Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves,‘ Do this,’ they do it.”

Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye- service, as men- pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:

Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well- pleasing to them in all things; not gainsaying;

Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and beast;though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only should be delivered themselves.Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast;though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither son nor daughter; they should but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!

And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she rose up and ministered unto them.

And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith?And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Fire and hail, snow and vapor; Stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover thee?Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, And say unto thee, Here we are?

Servants, be obedient unto them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;not in the way of eyeservice, as men- pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end.Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst, he came out of him, having done him no hurt.And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

They abide this day according to thine ordinances; For all things are thy servants.

O thou sword of Jehovah, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard; rest, and be still.How canst thou be quiet, seeing Jehovah hath given thee a charge? Against Ashkelon, and against the sea- shore, there hath he appointed it.
