那些鬼魔就央求耶穌，說：「如果你要把我們趕出去，就叫我們進入這群豬裡面去吧。」

群魔懇曰：『必欲驅我出、請發我入豕群。』

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

Jesus demanded,“ What is your name?”“ Legion,” he replied, for he was filled with many demons.The demons kept begging Jesus not to send them into the bottomless pit.There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby, and the demons begged him to let them enter into the pigs. So Jesus gave them permission.Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the entire herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand.He seized the dragon— that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan— and bound him in chains for a thousand years.

“ Send us into those pigs,” the spirits begged.“ Let us enter them.”

With a shriek, he screamed,“ Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!”

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.”
