Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another.For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely,“ You must love your neighbor as yourself.”

Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.For the commandments,“ Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,”( and if there is any other commandment) are summed up in this,“ Love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

O LORD, do I not hate those who hate you, and despise those who oppose you?I absolutely hate them, they have become my enemies!

You must not seek peace and prosperity for them through all the ages to come.

But if you fulfill the royal law as expressed in this scripture,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

The second is:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”The expert in the law said to him,“ That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him.And to love him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”When Jesus saw that he had answered thoughtfully, he said to him,“ You are not far from the kingdom of God.” Then no one dared any longer to question him.

The expert answered,“ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.”Jesus said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”But the expert, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

The second is like it:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

As for you, O LORD, have mercy on me and raise me up, so I can pay them back!”

The LORD said to Moses,“ Write this as a memorial in the book, and rehearse it in Joshua’s hearing; for I will surely wipe out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.Moses built an altar, and he called it“ The LORD is my Banner,”for he said,“ For a hand was lifted up to the throne of the LORD– that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

“ You have heard that it was said to an older generation,‘ Do not murder,’ and‘ whoever murders will be subjected to judgment.’
