还有西庇太的儿子雅各和雅各的兄弟约翰，又给这两个人起名叫半尼其，就是雷子的意思；

他的伙伴西庇太的儿子雅各、约翰，也是这样。耶稣对西门说：“不要怕！从今以后，你要得人了。”他们把两只船拢了岸，就撇下所有的，跟从了耶稣。

有西门彼得和称为低土马的多马，并加利利的迦拿人拿但业，还有西庇太的两个儿子，又有两个门徒，都在一处。

于是带着彼得和西庇太的两个儿子同去，就忧愁起来，极其难过，

过了六天，耶稣带着彼得、雅各，和雅各的兄弟约翰，暗暗地上了高山，

于是带着彼得、雅各，和雅各的兄弟约翰同去，不许别人跟随他。

那时，西庇太儿子的母亲同她两个儿子上前来拜耶稣，求他一件事。耶稣说：“你要什么呢？”她说：“愿你叫我这两个儿子在你国里，一个坐在你右边，一个坐在你左边。”

用刀杀了约翰的哥哥雅各。
