But Jesus answered him,“ Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.

耶穌曰、今姑許我、我儕亦如是以盡諸義、乃許之、

耶穌曰、今姑吾許、吾儕當如是以盡禮、乃許之、

耶穌謂之曰、今姑許我、因我儕當如是以盡諸義、約翰乃許之、

耶穌應曰：『茲姑許之、聊以盡義。』如望乃許之。

Jesus replied,“ Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

Jesus replied,“ Let it be this way for now. It is right for us to do this. It carries out God’s holy plan.” Then John agreed.

But Jesus said,“ It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him to be baptized.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he* allowed Him.

But Jesus answered and said to him,“ Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him to be baptized.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer[ it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

So Jesus replied to him,“ Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.

Jesus said to them,“ My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.

And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”

Then I said,“ Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.

And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.

Jesus answered him,“ What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.”Peter said to him,“ You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him,“ If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.”Simon Peter said to him,“ Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”

The Lord was pleased, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify his law and make it glorious.

but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
