There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.

便見兩個天使穿着白衣，坐在耶穌身體安放的地方，一個在頭那邊，一個在腳那邊。天使對她說：『婦人，你為甚麼哭？』她對天使說：『有人把我的主取了去，我不知道他們把他安放在哪裏。』

他們得了啓示、知道他們在這些事上所作服事的工、並不是為了自己，乃是為了你們。藉着那些靠聖靈而傳福音給你們的人、這些事如今已經傳告給你們了（聖靈是那從天上被差遣的）。天使也切願詳細窺察這些事呢。

看見石頭已經從墳墓輥開了，她們就進去，卻沒有看見身體。正為這事為難的時候，忽然有兩個人站在她們旁邊，穿着閃爍的衣服。她們很懼怕，就屈身將臉伏地；那兩個人對她們說：『為甚麼在死人中找活人呢？

她們彼此說：『誰可以給我們把石頭從墳墓門輥開呢？』望上一看，卻見石頭已經輥回去了！那石頭原是極大。他們進了墳墓，看見一個青年人坐在右邊，披着白袍；她們非常驚訝。

驀然間起了大地震，甚至監獄的根基都搖動了，所有的門立時開了，大家的鎖鍊也都鬆掉了。

大家公認地、大哉、敬虔之事的奧祕！他顯現於肉身裏，他被斷為得勝於靈裏，他現給天使們看見，他被宣傳於外國中，被信奉於遍世界，被接上於榮耀中。

忽然殿堂裏的幔子、從上到下、裂為兩段。地震動，磐石裂開；墳墓也開了；長眠着的聖徒的身體、有許多得甦活起來的；在耶穌活起來以後，他們從墳墓裏出來，進了聖城，還顯給許多人看見呢。

安息週的第一日清早、天還黑的時候、抹大拉的馬利亞上墳墓來，看見石頭從墳墓挪開了。

於是那在天上的上帝殿堂就開了；他的約櫃在他的殿堂中看得清清楚楚。隨即有閃電、響聲、雷轟、地震和大雹。
