Then he began to curse and to swear,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.

這時彼得就極力咒詛自己並且起誓說：『我不認識那個人。』立刻地雞就叫了。

彼得就開始賭咒並起誓說：「我不認識那個人！」立時，雞就叫了。

彼得遂詛且誓曰、我不識其人、即時鷄鳴、

伯鐸祿且咒且誓曰：『吾實不識其人。』雞即鳴矣。

Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.

Then Peter began to curse and said to them,“ I don’t know the man!” Right away a rooster crowed.

Then he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear,“ I do not know the man.” And immediately the rooster crowed.

Peter swore,“ A curse on me if I’m lying— I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed.

Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed,

As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

When it was day, some of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.They came to the chief priests and the elders, and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a great curse to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.

If any man doesn’t love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be cursed. Come, Lord!

Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

However, we may not give them wives of our daughters, for the children of Israel had sworn, saying,‘ Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin.’”

Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.

For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh

Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.

So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Feed my lambs.”He said to him again a second time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” He said to him,“ Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.” He said to him,“ Tend my sheep.”He said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?” Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time,“ Do you have affection for me?” He said to him,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed my sheep.

The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.All the people came into the forest; and there was honey on the ground.When the people had come to the forest, behold, honey was dripping, but no one put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.But Jonathan didn’t hear when his father commanded the people with the oath. Therefore he put out the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.Then one of the people answered, and said,“ Your father directly commanded the people with an oath, saying,‘ Cursed is the man who eats food today.’” So the people were faint.

Jesus said to him,“ Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

All the people answered,“ May his blood be on us, and on our children!”

But Peter said,“ Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

He said to his mother,“ The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears— behold, the silver is with me. I took it.” His mother said,“ May Yahweh bless my son!”

But he began to curse, and to swear,“ I don’t know this man of whom you speak!”The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him,“ Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.

But he denied it, saying,“ I neither know, nor understand what you are saying.” He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.
