Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, but as they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

Then he said to them,“ My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with me.”

When he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, exhausted from grief.

In the morning at sunrise quickly attack the city. When he and his men come out to fight you, do what you can to him.”

David said to Abner,“ Aren’t you a man? After all, who is like you in Israel? Why then haven’t you protected your lord the king? One of the soldiers came to kill your lord the king.This failure on your part isn’t good! As surely as the LORD lives, you people who have not protected your lord, the LORD’s chosen one, are as good as dead! Now look where the king’s spear and the jug of water that was by his head are!”

The king of Israel replied,“ Tell him the one who puts on his battle gear should not boast like one who is taking it off.”

I was asleep, but my mind was dreaming. Listen! My lover is knocking at the door!“ Open for me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one! My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”
