I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill of love. (niv)

and your mouth like the best wine. May the wine go straight to my beloved, flowing gently over lips and teeth. (niv)

I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. (niv)

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.“ This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them. (niv)

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. (niv)

Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? (niv)

Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. (niv)
