過兩天是逾越節，又是除酵節，祭司長和文士在想法子怎樣設計捉拿耶穌，把他殺掉。他們說：「不可在過節的日子，恐怕百姓生亂。」

除酵節，又叫逾越節，近了。祭司長和文士在想法子怎樣殺害耶穌，因他們懼怕百姓。

「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子將被交給祭司長和文士；他們要定他死罪，把他交給外邦人戲弄，鞭打，釘在十字架上；第三天他要復活。」

出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌和門徒屢次在那裏聚集。

逾越節以前，耶穌知道自己離世歸父的時候到了。他一向愛世間屬自己的人，就愛他們到底。晚餐的時候，魔鬼已把出賣耶穌的意思放在加略人西門的兒子猶大心裏。

他們聚集在加利利的時候，耶穌對門徒說：「人子將要被交在人手裏。

人子要去了，正如經上所寫有關他的；但出賣人子的人有禍了！那人沒有出生倒好。」出賣耶穌的猶大回答他說：「拉比，該不是我吧？」耶穌說：「你自己說了。」

猶太人的逾越節近了，有許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷去，要在過節前潔淨自己。

他不在這裏，已經復活了。要記得他還在加利利的時候怎樣告訴你們的，他說：『人子必須被交在罪人手裏，釘在十字架上，第三天復活。』」

「不可將我祭牲的血和有酵之物一同獻上。逾越節的祭牲也不可留到早晨。

猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌上耶路撒冷去。

你們要這樣吃羔羊：腰間束帶，腳上穿鞋，手中拿杖，快快地吃。這是耶和華的逾越。因為那夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地一切頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都擊殺了；我要對埃及所有的神明施行審判。我是耶和華。這血要在你們所住的房屋上作記號；我一見這血，就逾越你們。我擊打埃及地的時候，災殃必不臨到你們身上施行毀滅。」「你們要記念這日，世世代代守這日為耶和華的節日，作為你們永遠的定例。

耶穌對他們說：「我非常渴望在受害以前和你們吃這逾越節的宴席。

說：「我出賣了無辜人的血有罪了。」他們說：「那跟我們有甚麼相干？你自己承當吧！」

逾越節前六天，耶穌來到伯大尼，就是他使拉撒路從死人中復活的地方。
